CAREER GOALS

I'm looking for a position that will give me a daily creative outlet in which I can surround myself with other professionals from a variety of backgrounds. I'll try almost anything once, and I'm not afraid of a challenge.

M.S. Mass Communications, Virginia Commonwealth University 1996 – 1998                                           

  • A member of the inaugural class of the VCU Ad Center (now VCU Brand Center).

  • Studies included copywriting, developing creative campaigns, media-related issues in society, branding, popular culture, and exploring new media and audiences

  • Graduated with a student portfolio

 

B.A. Journalism, University of Georgia 1992 - 1996

  • Studies included advertising campaigns, media purchasing, media law and design

  • Studied French abroad in Quebec, Canada at Université Laval

  • Internship in the marketing department of Delta Air Lines

EXPERIENCE

Creative Projects Manager, SYNNEX Corp. 2017-present

I’ve been working in the in-house marketing department creating informative and captivating print, email, digital and web projects for various vendors and conferences.

  • Coordinate and schedule projects that respond to the ever-changing needs of the marketing and events teams via the Workfront project management program.

  • Assist with development, planning and execution of collateral for large conferences

  • Respond to vendor communication needs for blitz days, channel advertising and other internal and external marketing opportunities

  • Coordinate projects and creative services with designers, writers, web developers, and vendor representatives

Equal parts of brand strategy, project management and copywriting for various clients within the University, including the College of Engineering and Science (CES), CU-ICAR and the Office of Admissions.

  • Managed projects and developed creative for the admissions department, including acceptance packets that continuously garnered higher student yield over a 7-year period.

  • Edited and contributed to IDEaS, a bi-annual research magazine for CES.

  • Conducted focus groups among high school students to determine strategy and the effectiveness of campaigns.
